• Patient Safety Week

    Rebecca Topping | October 29, 2018

Today is the beginning of Patient Safety Week and this year is focused on Medication Safety. According to the Canadian Patient Safety Institute, 2 out of 3 Canadians (66%) over the age of 65 take at least 5 different prescription medications – while 27% take at least 10 different prescription medications. When you take multiple medications, it's important to make sure that you don't take anything that reacts adversely to anything else you're taking.

That's why the Camrose PCN has a pharmacist on staff to help you understand your medications and review them with you. You can find out more information about our pharmacist here

And you can take the quiz, "Not All Meds Get Along" to evaluate your knowledge about mixing medications here

Are you not sure if you're a good candidate for a medication review with our pharmacist? Then take a look at the Top 5 Reasons You Should Have Your Meds Reviewed. When you've decided to get a review, contact the Camrose PCN at (780) 608-4927 and ask to book an appointment with our pharmacist. Make sure to bring a list of everything you're taking (including prescription medication, non-prescription medication, herbal supplements, and vitamins). Let's make sure that what you're taking is healthy and safe.
