A fun way to a healthier you with the Camrose PCN

Challenge yourself to get active from April 25 – June 5, 2016, by joining the 2016 Get Out Get Active Challenge and trek your way through Costa Rica!

The Camrose Primary Care Network (PCN), along with Edmonton and area PCNs, are excited to offer the challenge as a fun way for people to work towards a healthier lifestyle.

The 2016 Get Out Get Active challenge is a 6 week on-line program for all ages which keeps track of your physical fitness activities (walking, running, swimming, basketball, cycling, etc.), and then turns them into steps, which then “virtually” takes you through Costa Rica.  Participating is easy and totally free.   Not only will you be working towards a healthier you – but by logging your steps and activity regularly at www.GetOutGetActivePCN.com. – you will be eligible for great prizes!

Registration is now open for this free activity challenge.  Visit www.GetOutGetActivePCN.com to get started.  Log in regularly to keep track of your fitness activities and enter your steps! While participants are welcome to use a pedometer or other step tracking devices, the on-line program will also calculate other activities such as swimming, biking, basketball etc. into steps so all fitness activities can count towards your steps.  New for 2016 is the ability for the website to sync with your Fitbit!

The Camrose PCN is happy to once again partner with Augustana Fitness Centre who will play a substantial role to the success of the challenge!

The 2016 GOGA Challenge Kickoff is on Monday,  April 25th – 12:00 noon meeting in the far east parking lot of the  Camrose Recreation Centre Parking lot. First 50 attendees receive a free GOGA T-Shirt (sizes are limited – first come first serve).  Come prepared to take a 30 minute outdoor TREK with the Augustana Fitness Centre team members!

For everyone that registers for GOGA Challenge - Augustana Fitness Centre is providing 6 (six) free drop in passes which can be used anytime throughout the challenge (ends June 5th).  A printable coupon will be provided when you register at www.GetOutGetActivePCN.com.
Augustana is also providing a prize donation of a One Year Membership  for a local Grand Prize, as well as a Membership Special which includes a  Fitness Centre Special Membership for GOGA participants – 1st time Fitness Centre users get 3 month pass for the price of 2.

Once again, the Camrose PCN is pleased to partner with the Camrose Public Library! Walk the streets of Downtown Camrose with the Camrose Library staff.  A new direction every week! Meet each Tuesday at the Library – walk takes place 12:15 pm – 12:45 pm.

Did you know Camrose has a new Outdoor Gym? It's free to use – and this weekly GOGA event is the perfect opportunity to learn how to safely and efficiently use the equipment!  Meet each Thursday over the lunch hour (12:15 – 12:45) at the Camrose Outdoor Gym in Jubilee Park with Camrose PNC Exercise Specialist Connie Harrison and start working out to a healthier you!

TRY OUT A FREE AQUA FITNESS CLASS at the Aquatic Centre!
The City of Camrose is donating a FREE pass for a one-time drop in Aqua Fitness Class Admission for all GOGA participants!  Drop by the Camrose PCN in the Camrose Recreation Centre between the hours of 8:30 – 4:00 Monday to Friday to pick yours up (must be registered for GOGA)!  They have also donated two one-month walking track passes which will be drawn during the GOGA campaign.
